Iced Protein Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai

Iced Protein Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai: Starbucks Copycat by Prodough

Ingredients

1-2 shots espresso or ¼ cup strong coffee or cold brew concentrate

1 scoop Prodough Snickerdoodle Whey Protein Powder 

8 oz. oat milk

 

Chai Concentrate

4 oz water

2 chai bags

 

Gingerbread Syrup

1 cup water

1 cup maple syrup

2 Tbsp molasses

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp cloves

Pinch sea salt

 

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Chai Concentrate. Microwave 4 oz of water until hot, about 40 seconds. Add two bags of chai to the hot water, cover, and allow to steep for 15 minutes. Remove tea bags and set aside.
  2. Prepare gingerbread syrup. Add water, maple syrup, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stirring frequently, bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, and allow to simmer for 5 minutes, or until the mixture is a sticky syrup.
  3. Whisk together snickerdoodle whey and oat milk until smooth. 
  4. Prepare latte. In a large glass, add ice, chai concentrate, 1-2 tbsp of gingerbread syrup, snickerdoodle whey mixture, and espresso. Enjoy! 
         Note: you will have leftover gingerbread syrup! Enjoy within one month.
